 We are very fortunate to own and manage our splendid property. In 1912, CCWA began acquiring land in East Bradford Township. The first parcel purchased was then known as Paradise Farm. Since 1913, we have been in continuous operation, serving our community as Paradise Farm Camps. Over the years, we were able to acquire additional land holdings, to the point where we now currently own approximately 600 acres. The vast majority of our land is in East Bradford, but we also own approximately 80 acres of woodlands in neighboring East Caln. We actively use approximately 150 acres and have three separate camp sites located in the core of our property. The camp sites are known as Weitzel, Bellevue, and Rohrman. In recent times, Weitzel has served as the site of our boy’s residential camp, Bellevue has served our girl’s residential camp, and Rohrman has served our ever-expanding Day Camp.
In addition to the camp areas, we have a year-round education center, two dining halls, four lodges, an open-air pavilion, a low-ropes teambuilding course, rock climbing wall, multi-purpose gymnasium, a pool, basketball and tennis courts, baseball and softball fields, and a health center.
As time goes by, we hope to dedicate more attention to our stewardship responsibilities. The land does not take care of itself and although we really enjoy it, it takes a lot of effort to maintain our property in a thoughtful and caring manner. Moving forward, we envision embarking upon a site master planning process to inform our future efforts. We intend to implement the best management practices in all of our work with our forest resources and in preserving our riparian zones and waterways. Sustainability will be one of our core themes. Additionally, we hope to incorporate alternative energy, wherever it is feasible and practical to do so. Although there is a lot of work ahead of us, we look forward to meeting the challenge.

We have a deep connection to our land and a healthy respect for the abundant natural resources located throughout our property. Some of the significant natural features include woodlands, streams, wetlands, hills and valleys, an extensive trail system, and a pond. The wildlife we encounter is quite diverse. Deer, fox, coyotes, pheasants, turkeys, raptors, and many other varieties of birds are frequently seen.
In an effort to protect our property, we entered into a conservation easement in 2004. This transaction resulted in our partnering with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the County of Chester, and the town of East Bradford to preserve approximately 350 of our acres. The easement is held and monitored by The Natural Lands Trust, a regional nonprofit conservation-based organization.
