Day Campers are placed into cabin groups by age and grade. Cabins are divided into three units by developmental milestones, Junior Camp, Day Camp, and The Teen LeadershipProgram.
Junior Camp program is designed for our youngest campers, children entering kindergarten through 8yo. Campers in this group participate in activities like sports and games, drama, nature, fishing, and daily swimming with swim lessons. Junior Camp counselors help each child adjust to the action packed pace of summer camp, and support them as they become more independent.
For campers age 9-12. Activities in this unit help campers focus on developing teamwork and community through cabin team building activities, resilience and mastery through the Wawakiya outdoor challenge, and independence & autonomy through weekly electives. Counselors in this age group teach their campers important lessons in problem solving, cooperation, and empathy.
The Teen Leadership program is an incredible opportunity for teens to learn about personal responsibility, citizenship, service, and leadership. Through daily group discussions, weekly team challenges, service opportunities, and fun traditional camp activities, Teens develop their sense of self and their understanding of how they can make the world a better place.
